Great site!

FYI: The word cretin comes from "Christian"- as cretins in the Alps were considered as a sort of angels and people with direct contact to the Christian divinity (until the 1700's). The name came into French as an insult (crétin) already in the middle-ages, often as "crétin des alpes" - then passed on to the English language.

Here in Europe, if you remind a Christian of this etymology they usually get upset, but it is easy to check it in any etymological dictionary of the French language.

PS. Some people have suggested that you make it clearer that you're a parody site. I say, don't. For every drunkard who mails you back in all caps there's ten people who wish you could be more subtle.

Besides, the slow realization that you've been spoofed works best s-l-o-w-l-y - or better yet, plain uncertainty.

Remember all fundamentalism is based on the idea that one is 100% sure about all information. It's important to leave people with unanswered questions.

"Bush-Cheney" gives very good advice for how to vote in November:

Your site is good for the souls of us who must bare yet another bout of political surrealism, this time on the grand stage of campaign 2000.

Politics is ever an affront to intelligence and common sense. As Larry Benski said in a recent article in the East Bay Express:

Once you fake that, the rest is easy."

I found your page pretty humorous, simply because I could not believe how utterly absurd it was. I tripped across a few fundamentalist pages that looked and sounded very similar to yours... except they were serious.

I recommend that you put in a few graphics that give a stronger indication of your true intentions (like a picture of a pastor holding a bible, foaming at the mouth and spouting nonsense in a religious fury). I'm a web designer/ 3D artist with a background in pencil and inks (comics), and I was looking for a name that would work well with an absurd page that I'll be eventually putting together."Cretin" sounded pretty good.

I apologize for the confusion... I like the content of your site, but graphically, it need some work. I hate religious fanatics with almost the same passion that they give in to "spreading the good word", so kudos for your efforts.

Actually, as I designed the site to look like it was a 'real' site, your initial reaction turned out to be a compliment. ;-)

I want to keep the sites in line with the philosophy 'Revenge is best served up Cold'. I.E. rather than straight forward commentary and images, it should be subtle and make one think.

To enhance the realism of The CRETIN Coalition, I created both CRETIN.ORG and CRETINworld.com, with the idea that no one would spend the time and money to create a satirical site this complex. I wanted the reaction of uncertainty wondering if the site is real or a farce.
